Muted Colors & Layers OOTD

Uncategorized

I am in love with fall colors, not just in the leaves 🍁, but in clothing!

I’ve always had a thing for muted colors like burgundy, army green, navy blue. And I’ve always been a fan of layering! 👌🏻

This is my Fall OOTD from the other day. I wore a sweatshirt in a maroon/purple color with leggings, a knit gray scarf and beanie and some awesome boots my dad found me at a yard sale. They are made by Volatile and are normally $64, but he got them for me for $7! 🙀 He did awesome! I love the way they lace up and I had actually been wanting some knee high black boots!

What are some of your all’s favorite fall accessories? And how do you like to pair colors together and layer?

{leather jacket+gray tee+leggings} OOTD

  Good afternoon, guys! 👋🏻

Confession time, I have been really busy lately with petsitting, so I haven’t had as much time to blog! Also, I kind of had a block and didn’t know what to write about for a little while and hadn’t had an outfit worth documenting lately. 🤗

Today, I got more dressed up than normal, but was still casual, so I decided to document.

I got this leather jacket for $19.99 at Ross and I love it! 😍 It’s still not quite cold enough in Tennessee to wear jackets most days, but I thought, “Whatever! Gonna do it anyway!” I got this jacket because I’ve never had a leather jacket I’ve liked. I’ve always been gifted the long trench jackets, which I hate, or the shapeless, boxy cut leather jackets with the squared off shoulders, which I’m also not a fan of.

This jacket is more tapered and flattering and I love it. ❤️ I got it to wear year round, but it’s also going to be part of my Halloween costume! 🎃👻🦇 Any guesses as to what I’m going to be? Drop a comment below if you have a guess!

I ended up wearing these gray boots today, but was playing around with sneakers also. I have some awesome combat boots, but I went with a more tame look today. The combat boots + the jacket together would definitely be of the “kick ass and take names” variety, but I was only feeling like taking names today, so I just opted for the jacket and these gray boots instead. ✌🏻

Anyways, what have you all been up to? Is it jacket weather where you all are at? Sadly, I am back to wearing shorts right now. 😂 I kind of want to complain that it’s still that warm in October, but then again, I’ll take the warm weather as long as it’s around! ☀️

Fall OOTD

Uncategorized

Whoa, two posts in one day?!

I’m just a super productive person. And I have like 0% of a social life, soooo…yeah, this post just turned super depressing! 😂

Anyways, thought I’d post a quick Fall OOTD. One of my favorite things about fall is layering and coming up with outfits, so I may have to do some more posts on that soon! 👈🏻

I also have an obsession with scarves which is all too real. 😅 This one is one my dad got for me in Israel. It smelled like spices when he first gave it to me that have since faded.

I chose this outfit today because it’s put together, but still casual. I love maroons and burgundys for fall also!

Also, had a great hair day, so it was worth documenting! I’m actually considering growing my hair back out a little, but we’ll see! My hair grows super fast—no clue why—so that won’t be a problem! I have missed being able to put it in a bun.

Anyways, another short little post to get me in the mood for fall! 🍂 Hope everyone has been doing great! I should be going back to Savannah, GA soon so I’ll post on that! Hopefully the hurricanes don’t do too much damage. Praying for everyone in those areas and already affected! ❤️

\\ Tennessee Valley Fair // 2017

Uncategorized

Last night we did one of my favorite fall activities: we went to the Tennessee Valley Fair! 🍗🍂

I wore flannel for the occasion and got a corn dog, because you can’t NOT get a corn dog. Was that a double negative?! Oh, well, the corn dog was definitely a POSITIVE. ✌🏻

The fair was just what I needed after a busy week and it always falls the week before my birthday, September 17th. It’s just become something fun I always look forward to. Aside from the food, there’s rides, people watching, pretty lights and the ferries wheel, livestock shows and cute animals and petting zoos…it’s the best! 😍

I always have to stop and see the chickens! And the rabbits!

So cute!

Going to the fair is such a fall thing. It’s definitely one of my favorite things, other than your typical drinking hot chocolate, making s’mores around a fire 🔥 🍫 and football, which I don’t care anything about, so that activity is wasted on me! 😂

I love just walking the midway and taking everything in. What’s a favorite fall activity that you all have? As far as clothes go, is there a certain thing that gets you in the mood for cooler weather? For me it’s definitely boots and scarves!

Tights+Shorts OOTD

A Musing

The weather has been yo-yoing up and down around here lately. One day, it’s in the 60’s, the next it’s barely 20 degrees outside. 😑😒 It can be frustrating, to say the least!

Mainly, because I have no clue what to wear most days. I’m always facing that dilemna of wanting to wear a skirt and show some leg, but feeling so pale on the semi-warm days. 😂

I ❤ wearing tights with shorts though, or just layering in general. This is an OOTD I wore the other day where I incorporated my trusty combat boots and wore this cool graphic tee I found that says “Make Your Magic”. 🌟

So, what do you all think? Yay or nay to tights with shorts?

OOTD (The Power of Accessories)

A Musing

So, I’ve been in OOTD Mode a lot lately. 😜 Fashion has always been something that has interested me, always sort of lurking in the background. I am by no means an expert in it, but I do think it’s a lot of fun coming up with outfits! 👠 I also sell a lot of vintage/new clothes at a booth in my spare time.
I have a confession to make, though: I ❤ scarves. It’s a rare day when it’s cold outside and you won’t also see me wearing a scarf. I own three gray scarves alone, but in my defense, one came with a sweater I bought, and one was a gift. Also, they are very different if you take the time to look at them. One is thick and cable knit, one is thin and short and basically just a loop, and the last one is layered and an infinity scarf that has tasseled ends.
I guess my point is, even though they are all technically “gray scarves”, they give off completely different looks and add different elements to different outfits. That’s what I love about accessories. 😍

Take this olive or army green dress, for example. Kind of boring by itself, right?

But if you add a SCARF, it can change the whole look.

Or even a belt to cinch it in, since it is sort of a flowy dress.

These are a few of my favorite belts. You can say I went through a Belt Phase a few years ago…😂

The two on the left are true vintage and belonged to my aunt. I like the gray one because it is so unique with the triangle design. When I wear it, I usually let it remain the focus because it really stands out. The black one below it has little medallions on it and kind of gives off a pirate/biker sort of vibe. I have a black dress I like to pair it with. The belts on the right are more simple, so they typically go with more, but it wouldn’t surprise me if they end up in future outfits down the road!

Here are some other scarves I own, but not all of them. 🤗 I tend to have neutral colors, but I also like crazy patterns! I’m scarf obsessed.

And finally, my OOTD from today. This army green and the orange in this sweater throw over are not colors I would normally pair together and I can honestly say I’ve never worn this “outfit” in its entirety like this before, but I’m liking it! 👍🏻

I switched out the ankle boots I’ve been wearing the past few days to my dependable and more casual knee length boots I got for Christmas. And, of course, I’m wearing a scarf. 😂

Now here’s a question for my followers: Do you like these OOTD posts? If you do, either like this post or leave a comment!

I appreciate all my followers and all your all’s patience with me. I will probably still do lists, life updates, lifestyle pieces, and travel posts too, when I am lucky enough to go places! 🌎I have just been in the mood to do clothing posts lately. In any case, thanks for going on this journey with me as I find my voice. I think a lot of times with writing, we’re constantly evolving as far as content and what we are into goes. And here’s to 2017 and maybe being a little less sporadic and more focused when it comes to posting! 🥂
