I took more people than usual estate sailing with me. Mimi, my grandmother, has really gotten into it over the last few months and has been my constant picking-through-dead-people’s stuff companion. 😂 (Kind of a morbid way to look at it, but if you need any further proof that you can’t take it with you, go to an estate sale.) I also took my husband Tim and an old friend, Elizabeth, along.
We went to a lot of cool sales! The picture of me swinging was at an estate sale out in Strawberry Plains 🍓 that had a gorgeous view and a mile long driveway just to get to the place.
The next day, Saturday, Elizabeth and I went to a sale in Pigeon Forge and saw THIS. 😍 I may get this wrong, car aficionados, but I think they told us it was a 1910 Model T Ford Speedster. It had a Ford Pinto engine and was redone. I don’t know why, but lately, I have really wanted an old car. They are so neat! But I’d rather save up and go some places first. 🌎
One thing I found this weekend was this pretty sleepwear romper! It’s retro and from the 1970’s-1980’s. 😍 I put it on our Etsy. We’ve still got a few other things like a cotton scale (this heavy, rusty looking thing) and a lamp Tim made to price. I did really well this weekend! Sometimes, it’s hard to not look for yourself sometimes!
Do any of my followers like to go to estate sales? I’m thinking about doing an upcoming blog entry full of tips on how to find the best ones! Just things I’ve learned through the years! Be on the lookout for that post, coming later this week!
